Solar Mad is looking for an Apprentice Electrician!

Solar Mad is a family run business which runs a significant solar installation and maintenance business, a full-service electrical contracting department and an electronics retail store which is an authorised Jaycar stockist. Solar Mad has a tradition of employing apprentices and trainees. Over the last 10 years we are proud to say that we have helped almost 20 people start, continue or complete their apprenticeship in Electrotechnology or Traineeship in Business Administration or Retail Services.

We are looking for a local person to join our Griffith-based team and undertake a fully supported apprenticeship leading to the qualification of: Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician. The successful applicant can be someone who is keen to start an apprenticeship or someone who is currently completing their qualifications as a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year electrical apprentice.

About you

Our new apprentice electrician will be someone who is motivated, enthusiastic and reliable and keen to launch or further their career as an electrician.  You will have impeccable attention to detail, excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills. You will be a motivated, dedicated and keen to learn. Personal presentation, reliability and a driver’s license are all essential. You will ideally be a recent school leaver or someone looking to begin a new phase in their career.

About the Role

The successful applicant would join the Riverina’s largest solar and electrical contracting businesses. The role is a full-time (38 hours a week) fully supported apprenticeship. The successful candidate will obtain a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician delivered by a registered training organisation.

You will be a member of our electrical team, working alongside our other apprentices and learning from fully qualified electricians. You will be responsible for a variety of jobs installing and testing new systems, diagnosing and repairing faults, performing maintenance on electrical networks, working with data cables, circuits, wiring or appliances. You could be working on residential, commercial, industrial or agricultural sites and not just with solar. This is a fast paced and interesting role and you are guaranteed to learn a lot about all aspects of electrical trades.
